The fabric made of mercerized wool often has the characteristics of luster, anti pilling and anti shrinkage. Why does mercerized wool have such characteristics? After the wool is mercerized, the wool scales of the wool fiber are stripped off and become smoother, reducing the friction resistance between each other, so it has the characteristics of luster and anti pilling. Wool scales are also the main reason for the shrinkage of wool fabrics. Wool scales open after absorbing water and entangle with each other, resulting in the shrinkage of wool fabrics. Mercerized wool fabrics without wool scales will not shrink.
Mercerized wool is usually woven into pure wool yarn; Or blended with other materials. Mercerized wool is generally used as clothing fabric.Pure wool or high wool content can be used to make more close fitting basic woolen sweaters, while fabrics with low wool content can be made into different clothes according to the fabric characteristics after blending.
How to wash mercerized wool fabric:
1. Select appropriate detergent
Should choose wool special detergent, can not use washing powder, soap and so on.
2. Correct cleaning method
When washing, mix the detergent with warm water at about 30 ℃, and then wet the fabric for kneading. The number of kneading depends on the dirt degree of the fabric. Note that the strength should not be too large when kneading.
3. Lay flat and dry
When drying, we can use special Tools to lay flat and dry, so as to avoid fabric deformation caused by hanging and drying with clothes hangers. If possible, we can use a dryer.
